They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Here are some of my favorite places to grab breakfast in Barbados so you can fuel up for surfing, snorkeling, sunbathing, sightseeing, or any other adventures that come your way.

Surfer’s Cafe Barbados
Surfers Cafe is a beachfront breakfast and brunch spot located in Oistins. On the morning menu, you can choose from pancakes, waffles, omelets, flatbreads, avocado toast, and bowls. In the afternoon, the menu switches to include burgers, wraps, and other lunch favorites.
They also serve impressive milkshakes, coffees, and smoothies all day. Because of the beautiful sea views, it’s common to see families celebrating birthdays here. There’s music playing and the open-air concept means you can enjoy your food while feeling the fresh sea breeze.
Surfers Cafe is just a short drive from popular surf spots like Freights Bay and Surfers Point, making this an excellent place to grab a bite after catching some waves. There’s also good WiFi for digital nomads who want to get some work done.
Breakfast is served from 7:00 am until 11:00 am.

Bliss Cafe
Bliss Cafe Barbados is a trendy place to grab breakfast in St. Lawrence Gap and they’re known for wild milkshakes, fluffy pancakes, creative waffles, and other breakfast classics.
There’s a spacious outdoor eating area with large trees for shade, and because of the central location, you’re only a few blocks away from some of the best beaches in Barbados.
Bliss Cafe is a great choice for anyone with a sweet tooth and there are vegan and gluten-free options available.
Breakfast is served Wednesday to Sunday 8:00 am until 2:30 pm.
ArtSplash Cafe
ArtSplash Cafe is located in Hastings near the South Coast Boardwalk. It’s directly across the street from the beach so you can enjoy relaxing views with your morning coffee.
Every day, ArtSplash Cafe serves smoothie bowls and healthy food options as well as fancy juices. Outdoors there’s a large dining veranda and inside there’s an art gallery with rotating exhibitions.
On Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, you can check out the Hastings farmers market in the parking lot.
The cafe is open for breakfast Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. Brunch is available on Sunday from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Epic Cafe
Epic Cafe is one of the only places in Barbados where you can simultaneously grab a smoothie bowl and book surfing lessons. It’s located in Oistins near Maxwell beach, just a short drive from surf spots and the Friday Night Fish Fry. They have excellent coffees and smoothie bowls that will make you swoon, and you can even shop for surf boards while you wait.
Epic is open from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm every week day. On Saturday they’re open from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm and they’re closed Sunday.
Baby Doll Cafe
For breakfast on the beach, head to Baby Doll Cafe in Hastings. Located directly off the South Coast Boardwalk, Baby Doll is the perfect place for photo-worthy outdoor dining.
If you’re in the mood for granola bowls, avocado toasts, breakfast sandwiches, banana pancakes, or classic bakery favorites, Baby Doll can make it happen. They’re open all day, every day and breakfast starts at 8:00 am.
Baby Doll is also one of my favorite spots to watch the sunset in the evenings.

L’Azure Restaurant at Crane
Looking for a buffet breakfast in Barbados? The spread at L’Azure Restaurant in the Crane Resort definitely won’t disappoint.
We stayed at The Crane Resort in St. Philip for our first few nights in Barbados and loved waking up to breakfast with a breezy view of Crane Beach.
L’Azure is open to non-hotel guests as well, and the breakfast menu includes an omelet station, fresh fruit, Bajan cuisine, and traditional English and American breakfast foods.
Breakfast is served from 7:30 am until 11:00 am.
Cafe Luna
Cafe Luna is one of the best restaurants in Christ Church, Barbados for an upscale dinner, but they also have a breakfast and brunch menu. Brunch is available every weekend and includes options like stuffed French toast, eggs Benedict with flying fish, pulled pork crepes, and more.
For breakfast, you can try pancakes, egg scrambles, huevos rancheros, or a classic Bajan breakfast. Cafe Luna has a beautiful outdoor patio where you can enjoy your first meal of the day with a view of Miami Beach.
Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am until 2:30 pm. Breakfast is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
Sharkey’s Tropical Cafe
Located in St. Lawrence Gap, Sharkey’s Tropical Cafe is open all day, every day of the week. It’s known for vibrant colors, upbeat music, and a high-energy atmosphere that starts pretty early in the morning.
You can grab breakfast and coffee from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm, making this a great spot to revive yourself after a big night out in the Gap. There are some pretty big breakfast platters on the menu, so come hungry.
Happy Days Cafe
In a colorful bungalow in St. Lawrence Gap, you’ll find the Happy Days Cafe. With casual vibes and outdoor seating, it regularly gets reviews for being one of the best breakfast spots on the island.
Choose from pancakes, French toast, omelets, and hearty breakfast sets with options like eggs, sausage, eggs, bacon, beans, and toast.
Breakfast is available from 7:30 am until 2:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 7:30 am until 1:00 pm on Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Monday.
Bean n Bagel
Bean n Bagel is located in Holetown on the platinum west coast of Barbados. Guest reviews rave about the staff, service, and relaxing outdoor ambiance.
Guests can choose from breakfast sandwiches, traditional Bajan breakfast, English, and American breakfast plates, omelets, burritos, and of course, a wide selection of bagels. Lunch options like pasta, salads, and burgers are also available.
Bean n Bagel serves all-day breakfast and is open from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
De Breakfast Place
De Breakfast Place is located in Bridgetown near the Garrison. It’s a great place for a bite at a local establishment off the beaten path. There are affordable combos and a wide variety of items like waffles, chicken strips, grilled cheese, omelets, deep-fried potatoes, fish cakes, and plantains.
Make sure to check their Instagram page to see what’s available each day, since sometimes the menu changes.
Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 am until 10:00 am.
